2 Steps to Save A Life

Sudden cardiac arrest is a medical emergency

that claims about 350,000 American lives each

year. In most cases, this situation is due to a

lethal condition of a rapidly quivering heart.

This heart is now no longer able to pump blood

to the rest of the body.

Many studies have shown that when CPR is started immediately to a person who is showing no signs of life, and an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is used within 3-5 minutes, it can correct this lethal heart condition. This can result in high long term survival rates for the community.

The PRFPD recognizes this important medical situation and offers American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR Classes and Heartsaver First/Aid CPR classes's throughout the year to the community we serve.

Upcoming Classes

Classes are usually scheduled “on demand” when we have interest from 5 or more people. If you are interested in future classes, e-mail Chief McCafferty or call (541)352-6092.

Our courses follow the 2010 AHA Guidelines, are 3 to 4 hours long, and cost $50.00 which includes a certification card.
